SALT LAKE COMIC CON 2015
I AM SUCH A GEEK!
I took a couple of days off the air to travel to Salt Lake City for comic con 2015! All I can say is WOW!
We started the day at the press event where the cos –players and filled the stage until it was announced that all Military, Police, 1st responders, and Teachers were welcomed on stage to be thanked for their service. Utah Attorney General Reyes even came on stage to salute these people who mean so much to us all.
I had the opportunity to talk to the man who created the Capitan America bike for Chris Evans at this year’s Comic Con. Here is an interview with John Ward the man behind the bike.
The Animaniacs where there well at least the voice actors. Jess Harnell, who also voices characters on “The Cleveland Show” and “Transformers”. Maurice La Marche , who also does characters on “Futurerama”, and Pinky and the Brain. Also there was Tress MacNeille, her work also includes “The Simpsons”, Futurama and the voice of Daisy Duck for Disney.
Joel Hodgson, the man who created Mystery Science Theater 3000 was there and I got to meet and interview him.
I also ran into a lot of people from Cache Valley that I knew or knew me from the radio. How KOOL is that! One of the guys I ran into at a Panel was Kelly Finch who is a teacher at Preston high school. We talked about a project he is working on with his on comic.
I could go on and on about the things we saw and the great cos-players we ran into, but I need to get back to work. I will tell you that the Salt Lake Comic Con was #EPIC for my wife and me. The one thing I tell people is Comic Con is not just comics. It is more a celebration of entertainment from Sci Fi, to Horror, to Fantasy, to Super Heroes. We had such a great time that we are already making plans (and saving money) for next year.
