HOW DO I SAY GOODBYE?

I have been thinking about this for a few days, what is it?  How to say GOODBYE.   No I am not leaving KOOL.  But I just noticed that a phrase is starting to take the word Goodbye away from our everyday use. For the past few weeks whenever I am in a store it seems...

I NEED TO WAKE UP

As I have told you in the past I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep and last night was one of those nights.  I woke up three times before 2am and only once was for the reason most men of my age wake up in the middle of the night. TODAY I AM...

QUICK TAKES

  • Paul McCartney has just announced his first concert in Krakow, Poland. McCartney will play the city on December 3rd at the 22,000-seat Tauron Arena. The former-Beatle said in a statement: “It’s always fun to visit new places and helps to keep things fresh and exciting for us. I’ve always wanted to see Krakow and have heard so many great things about it. We had such a blast on our last trip to Poland so we know this is going to be another special night for us and we can’t wait to get back. Get ready to rock, Poland!”
  • So far, “Macca’s” new “Freshen Up” tour will take in stops in the U.S., Canada, England, and Scotland. (Press Release)
  • Elton John and Prince Harry will be joining forces at the 2018 International AIDS Conference to launch a new global coalition focused on treating HIV infections in men. The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) and International AIDS Foundation (IAF) announced that the joint effort will be rolled out during the conference’s opening on July 24th in Amsterdam.
  • Elton John said in a statement: “Two years ago at the 21st International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa the Duke of Sussex and I participated in a panel looking at HIV and youth — the only age demographic where HIV infections are rising not falling. Since then, my foundation, along with other partners, have been undertaking participatory, human-centered design research collectively covering six countries. A critical finding from this work is the urgent need to rapidly scale up men’s access to and engagement in HIV testing and treatment services.” (Billboard)
  • Gene Simmons says that should past members make a cameo during Kiss‘ presumably final tour — they’ll have to do so without makeup. During a chat with Imperiumi, he touched upon the notion of surviving former members — Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, Vinnie Vincent, and Bruce Kulick — joining the band onstage, explaining, “We talked about it, but we have not decided anything. The problem is, if you bring out special guests, they come on without makeup. You cannot put on the makeup. You’ve been out of the band 20 years. It’s not going to happen.”
  • He went on to talk about reconnecting with the ex-Kiss members who have taken part in his various “Vault” events: “Everybody was very sweet. Vinnie Vincent was fine. I thought it was going to be a problem. No problem. Ace (Frehley) loved it so much. He went to three different cities. Peter was fine. He came by for a short time, told the fans how much he loved them and then he went back. I think Peter is done. He does not want to be in the public eye. He’ll sign some autographs, but that’s it.” (Ultimate Classic Rock)
  • Lenny Kravitz has released the second video from his upcoming Raise Vibration album, coming on September 7th. In a statement discussing the video for “Low,” Kravitz talked about the new clip which features him singing and drumming in a dark room: “When (director Jean-Baptiste Mondino) heard ‘Low’ for the first time he focused on the beat and kept listening to it over and over. The result was a black room, black drum set, and black clothing. It was all about the groove and the space. It turned into an interesting way to present a song, that has so much production, and portray the conversation taking place in the song.” (Rolling Stone)
