I was sad to hear of the passing of Cory Wells of 3 Dog Night on Tuesday.   I have been a fan of the band since I 1st heard “Eli’s Coming”.  One of my memories of that time involved that song when my older sister and her friend dared me to put on a long wig and go into a Memphis record store and act like I was a young “HIPPE”.   Well I did, and they paid up by buying me the 45 of “Eli’s coming”.

The 1st LP I purchased with my own money was the 3 dog night album “GOLDEN BISCUTS”.

I even got to see the band perform in concert 3 times,in Baton Rouge LA,  Montgomery City Mo, and here in Logan at the Cache Valley Cruise in back in 2009.  I even got to introduce them on stage at the Montgomery City and Logan concert.

Here are some pictures of the Logan show from 2009

I even interviewed Cory Wells on the phone and got some great stories about the early days and “JOY TO THE WORLD”   you can listen to the interview here.

I will always love 3 Dog night and what an honor it was to be able to meet Cory Wells!  As I close this blog, I do so with one of my favorite songs by the band.  Not one of their biggest hits but one that touched me the 1st time I heard it.  It is “Til The World Ends”

Thanks Cory Wells for all the great music
