People always ask me “where are you going for Thanksgiving?’  My answer is “To the table for some Turkey and Dressing, then to my recliner to watch FOOTBALL” No really is I hate traveling on any Holiday, and a lot of times that is our busy time here at KOOL.   So I stay home with my wife and then we go to my Mother in laws house for dinner.   She lives about 5 houses from us so I don’t have to fight the crowds and that is a good thing.

I do like to take time during to holidays to remember the things I am Thankful for.   The list is long, but I will keep this short

I am thankful for my wife Teresa, I cannot imagine what my life would be without her.

I am thankful for my job (if you can call this “WORK”) Getting up every day at 4:30am is not always fun, but being on the radio knowing that someone is listening is.   So Thanks for listening.

I am thankful for my health,  I have had issues the past few years and I am sure I will have more, but whatever comes I am ok with it and enjoy my life ‘

Finally I am thankful the Pilgrim’s didn’t have Liver for thanks giving dinner!

Here are some travel tips from a website called The Insider took time to crunch  the numbers from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics to figure out the best and worst times to fly around Thanksgiving to avoid the biggest crowds and longest delays.  Check ’em out . . .

  1. The best day to fly out is the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  And the second best is on Thanksgiving itself.
  2. The worst days are the Sunday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving, especially Tuesday night.
  3. When you’re going home afterwards, Black Friday is the best day to fly.  Saturday is the second best.
  4. And the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving are the worst times to fly home . . . they have the most delays.

If you are driving or flying this Thanksgiving be safe and be Thankful for what you do have
