As part of his monthly live archival series, Bruce Springsteen has just issued, Nassau Coliseum - 5/4/09. The Nassau concert is Springsteen's fourth release from the 2009 tour, with the series already issuing concerts from Philly, New York City, and Buffalo. The set, which was taped during the E Street Band's tour behind the Working On A Dream album, also marked the final trek with co-founding member Clarence Clemons.

The show features such notables as "For You," "Seeds," "Rendezvous," the then-recent "Outlaw Pete," the Golden Globe-winning "The Wrestler," and a fan request -- a cover of the Soul Survivors' 1967 Gamble & Huff-written classic, "Expressway To Your Heart."

Guitarist Nils Lofgren told us that although Bruce Springsteen has always allowed spots for one of his legendary "anything can happen" moments, over the band's past few tours the fan requests and covers -- like "Expressway To Your Heart" -- were a way to keep the show evolving: "We've always done an improv show, but usually there's a theme to the set. And you can always read Bruce and he kinda surprises you, but the setlist has some function. I think after months out on the road when he started dragging like 30 signs in a pile on stage. But I think after he stared doing that, he just, I think -- I'm not speaking for him -- it's almost that he fell into this. . . to challenge himself and us, to keep himself excited and engaged, the next frontier was just starting to call the whole set audibly. I mean, he started changing the first song on the way to the stage."
