Following its long-awaited release earlier this year on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital video, Foreigner – Live At The Rainbow '78 is set for release on CD and digital platforms on July 12th. Caught live on April 27th, 1978 at London's Rainbow Theatre, the disc spotlights Foreigner's classic early lineup featuring Mick Jones, Lou Gramm, Ian McDonald, Al Greenwood, Ed Gagliardi, and Dennis Elliott. Over 40 years after the Foreigner's historic Rainbow gig, the show has been restored from the original film reels, remixed and remastered for the 2019 releases.
Among the highlights on the set are “Feels Like The First Time,” “Long, Long Way From Home,” and “Cold As Ice,” as well an exclusive preview of two soon-to-be classics from the band's upcoming Double Vision album — “Hot Blooded” and “Double Vision.”
We asked Mick Jones what he hears when he listens back to Foreigner's '78 Rainbow gig: “That band, obviously, was still in very early stages of its career. A lot of pressure to follow up that first album. Each time we came out with something, it had to, sort of, live up, or surpass, what we had done previously.”
