Dead & Company has canceled its 18-date summer tour due to the ongoing pandemic. The jaunt was set to kick off on July 10th and 11th with a two-night stand at Boulder, Colorado's Folsom Field and wind down over two nights -- August 7th and 8th -- at Boston's Fenway Park.

The band posted a message to fans on social media, which reads:

Due to the global coronavirus outbreak, and in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we sadly have no choice but to cancel the upcoming Dead & Company Summer 2020 Tour.

The well-being and safety of the Deadhead community, venue workers and our touring family is of the utmost importance to us. We also want to provide you, the fans who've been hit hard financially during this difficult time with your money back. All tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase.

We are thankful for your love, your understanding and we look forward to the day when we can all be reunited. In the meantime, keep the faith and believe in the power of music.

We will return. We will get by. We will survive.

When we last caught up with Dead drummer Mickey Hart, he was all but gushing about the vibe on the road these days with the band: "There's really hardly any words to describe it. It's so good now -- we finally know how to do it, I think, after 50-some-odd years. I think we finally figured it out (laughs). And, it's real smooth. John (Mayer's) a great guitar player and, y'know, playing with Bill (Kreutzmann's) a joy -- always has been, always will be -- and Bob (Weir), he's doing really well these days. And so, I'm a happy little puppy."
