Geddy Lee is heading back on the publicity trail to promote his critically acclaimed tome Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book Of Bass. Ultimate Classic Rock reported new signing sessions begin on July 14th in Nashville, with additional stops set for St. Louis, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Atlanta.

According to the press release for the book, "Geddy’s love of the bass has been nurtured over a lifetime spent in the limelight as one of the world’s premier rock bassists. For the past seven years, he’s dedicated himself to studying the history of the instrument that’s been so essential to his career, collecting hundreds of basses from around the globe, 250 of which are presented here in breathtaking detail with specially commissioned photography by Richard Sibbald."

Among the instruments showcased in the book are by Fender, Gibson/Epiphone, Rickenbacker, Hofner, Ampeg -- and lesser-known but influential global luthiers such as Antonio Wandr Pioli, Dan Armstrong, and Tony Zemaitis.

Interspersed in the book are interviews by such high profile players and technicians as John Paul Jones, Adam Clayton, Robert Trujillo, Jeff Tweedy, Bill Wyman, Les Claypool, along with Pete Townshend's recently deceased legendary guitar tech, Alan Rogan.

At the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Geddy Lee sat in with Yes. He was asked if he found it hard to fill in for his hero, the late-Chris Squire by learning his bass parts: "At first -- difficult, After a while -- difficult (laughter). They're a very precise band. Chris Squire was one of the most inventive and original sounding bass players, ever. So, to play his parts. . . I mean, it's one thing to mimic his parts, okay? And you can mimic anything if you (laugh) practice long enough. But, to write those parts is sheer brilliance. So, it was a great honor for me to step in."
