I LOVE MUSIC, ANY KIND OF MUSIC

That is the name of a song by the Jays and it is part on the thought process of this blog.  Good music is just good music.

Last Saturday I was visiting with my friend Mitch and he asked me who I would put up on my Mt Rushmore of music.  I really7 ad to think on that one and came up with Elvis, The Beatles, Elton John, and the founder of Motown records Barry Gordon Jr.  Mitch countered with Van Halen, Aerosmith, Fleetwood mac and Toto

I am sure you would come up with a different answer to.  That kind of proves my point of Good Music is good music.

The AAA has asked its members what songs they like to sing along with in the car.     Look at this list and you will find 9 of the 10 songs are songs we play on KOOL 1039

  • Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen
  • Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi
  • Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond
  • Dancing Queen – ABBA
  • Don’t Stop Believin’ – The Journey
  • I will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
  • Wonderwall – Oasis this is the only one KOOL does not play
  • Hotel California – The Eagles
  • Hey Jude – The Beatles
  • Eye of the Tiger – Survivor

I guess you could say we have the market corned on sing along favorites.

If you went through my song list you would find standards from Dean Martin and Nat King Cole.  From the 50’s doo whop, songs like why fools fall in love. Blue moon. Rama lama Ding dong.  Early 60’s Ricky Nelson and Bobby Vie.  British invasion, (Do you have to ask) also Peter and Gordon, Herman’s Hermits.  Late 6o’s early 70’s, James Taylor, America, the Guess who.  The disco era the Commodores, Earth wind and fire (I prefer the Bee’s.  The country boom of the late 80’s saw favorites like Garth, Don Williams, Charlie Daniels and John Anderson.   Hair bands like Skid Row and Jackle can be found in my collection too.

As I age I know less and less of the music of the last 15 years but I do enjoy hearing Lenny Kravitz, Bruno Mars and Pitt bull.

Quite a range of favorites, but I tell you also.   I was at a USU event and one of the singing groups with a small orchestra and they were as the MIZ would say AWESOME.   And at Christmas time attended a Mormon Tabernacle Chior  concert is the best way to get into the Christmas spirit.

But everyone has that one act that they love and hardly any wine has heard of them and for me that act is a band from the Twin Cities, CROW!  I listen to Crow every chance I get.   Just thinking about it I want to share one of their songs
