Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has announced five headlining California shows for his side band The Longshot, starting on June 7th and 8th in Oakland and including stops in Pioneertown, Los Angeles and Santa Ana. The group teased the announcement earlier this week, with tickets on sale now.

Armstrong unveiled the band last year, a four-piece who released their debut album, Love Is For Losers, in April 2018. That disc was followed up by three EPs which Armstrong posted on SoundCloud, consisting of a mix of covers and originals.

Armstrong has played with several side projects over the years, including Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network — although the latter two essentially consisted of Green Day plus additional musicians. Green Day has been on a break since completing the tour cycle for its 2016 album Revolution Radio.

Newly announced The Longshot tour dates (subject to change):
June 7 – Oakland, CA – The Golden Bull
June 8 – Oakland, CA – The Golden Bull
June 10 – Pioneertown, CA – Pappy & Harriets
June 12 – Los Angeles, CA – Moroccan Lounge
