Daryl Hall & John Oates have just announced their first ever South American concerts for this coming spring. The duo, who'll kick off the year with a brief Las Vegas run, has a six-date European trek already on the books, before finally hitting Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. John Oates said in a statement: "I have not been back in Argentina since the late-'80s when I was skiing in Las Lenas. Really looking forward to returning there to perform. . . I am really excited to see (Chile and Brazil) and play for our fans there."

Daryl Hall explained to us that although a new album isn't in the pipeline for the pair, Hall & Oates exists today to celebrate their huge catalogue: "Hall & Oates is this body of work that people really care about. That's really what it's all about -- that's why we do it. We, creatively, are individuals at this point, but we have all these songs -- I call them my 'children' -- and people wanna hear 'em, so we play 'em -- (laughs) I mean, it's pretty much as simple as that. People pay us money to (laughs) go out and do that; they enjoy it, we enjoy it, and then we also do other things."

John Oates told us that Hall & Oates -- personally, professionally, and creatively -- is in a really good place these days: "It feels good though. Y'know, it doesn't feel forced, doesn't feel too overwhelming. I think we've all come to grips with how to make it work in our life, how to tour, how to continue touring without killing yourself and burning out, how to make records and how to integrate the whole thing."
