A Johnny Ramone tribute brought out an all-star lineup of legendary musicians over the weekend. Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, as well as comedian Fred Armisen took the stage for some punk rock classics.

According to Armisen, in the spirit of punk rock, the surprise group of artists "practiced a few times" for their set, "but not too much."

Each year, Johnny Ramone’s widow, Linda, puts on a celebration for her late husband’s life and has an acoustic jam for a few hundred fans.

According to Forbes magazine, the audience was also star-studded, Morrissey and artist Shepard Fairey were among the attendees.

The annual tribute took place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
