Lynyrd Skynyrd has added 21 new stops to its current farewell trek, dubbed the "Last Of The Street Survivors Farewell Tour." The band has tagged on new stops throughout September, October, and November, before wrapping on December 8th in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. In the press release announcing the new dates, Skynyrd's co-founding guitarist Gary Rossington said, "This farewell tour has already been the perfect end to an incredible run and we are not even halfway through the tour yet! There is still lots of road to go and lots of fans to see one last time."

Frontman Johnny Van Zant added: "we are having a blast! Every crowd so far has been incredible. The energy and excitement they have been giving us has been like fuel on a fire. We can’t wait to get out there each night and burn it up!"

  • Rickey Medlocke, who played drums with Lynyrd Skynyrd in the early days, went on to form Blackfoot, before returning to play guitar for Skynyrd back in 1996. He told us he loves looking back and thinking about the band's formative years: "We were so young, and we were so full of hope, and hungry. I mean, we were so hungry for it. We knew we had something, and we were so full of promise. It's great to see exactly where the band was at the time. I, for one, will never forget those memories." :
