Even though it’s the talk of Van Halen fans, bassist Michael Anthony says a reunion tour with Van Halen is - just a rumor.

Anthony, who spent much of the last few years on the road with Sammy Hagar & The Circle posted an Instagram photo of him sitting by a motorhome with an acoustic bass in hand, along with the following caption: "A little R&R in the motorhome with the family before the start of The Circle tour with @Sammy-Hagar."

After one fan commented, "Thought the circle was on hold because of Van Halen tour??" Anthony responded with this: "VH tour not gonna happen."

Michael Anthony - who took a pay cut and signed away all of his rights to the band name and logo in order to participate in Van Halen's 2004 tour, had recently said that he wasn’t opposed to reuniting with Van Halen and stated: "I don't know what kind of rumors are floating around or whatever, but I personally haven't been contacted by them yet or anything. So, at this point, nothing is happening. But you never know."

The four founding members - Michael Anthony as well as singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen haven’t performed together since 1984.

Sammy Hagar & The Circle's debut album of original material, Space Between, will be released on May 10.
