Motley Crue has written three brand new songs for the soundtrack of the band's upcoming biopic The Dirt, but the Los Angeles quartet has also done a fourth tune for the film: a cover of Madonna's 1984 pop classic, "Like A Virgin."

Speaking with Billboard, Crue bassist Nikki Sixx said that he came up with the notion to cover the track, but thought it was a "really horrible idea" at first. He told producer Bob Rock about it, with Rock replying, "Yeah, I don't know. Good luck!" But Sixx impressed Rock and drummer Tommy Lee with a rough demo of the song, so the band completely reworked the track but left the lyrics unchanged.

Asked if Madonna knew about the Crue recording the cover, Sixx replied, "I don't know. She will soon, I imagine. Maybe we can get her in the video."

The Dirt will premiere on Netflix on March 22nd, with the soundtrack arriving the same day. In addition to 14 Crue classics, the soundtrack will contain the newly released title track, along with "Like A Virgin" and two other new tunes, "Ride With The Devil" and "Crash And Burn."
