HALL & OATES & SQUEEZE ROLL OUT RESCHEDULED 2021 TOUR DATES

Daryl Hall & John Oates and Squeeze have rolled out their 2021 itinerary, which was rescheduled from their scrapped 2020 dates. Once again, KT Tunstall will serve as their special guest, with the 24-city trek kicking off on August 5th at Mansfield, Massachusetts' Xfinity Center, and winding down two months later on October 5th at Mountain View, California's Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Daryl Hall recalled to us how “Sara Smile” became Hall & Oates' breakthrough hit in 1976 going all the way to Number Four — thanks in large part to R&B stations picking up on the track: It was like wildfire and it spread that way and then we finally made it, for the first time, we made it on to the pop charts, onto AM radio and I remember the first time I heard it on AM radio, and I said, ‘I can’t believe this is a hit because it doesn’t sound like anything else that’s on the radio on this format.’ I was taken aback to tell you the truth. (Laughs) I didn’t understand why we were becoming popular because we were so different. But, I understood the black thing very easily, because that’s where we came from. We sort of came in to pop radio through the back door.”

We asked Glenn Tilbrook about the fact that although in the '80s, the duo billed themselves at one point as Difford & Tilbrook, they now use the Squeeze moniker despite being the only original members left: “The reason Squeeze has been kept is because it was always a vehicle for mine and Chris' songs. That's how it was put together, that's the reason it existed in the first place. So, if anyone's got a right to call it Squeeze — we have, (laughs), y'know?”
