This morning I found some information about a survey of what people use Ketchup for, or is it Catsup? I don’t know if there is any difference or if I should even care.

Here is what I found

A new survey on Buzzfeed asked people if they put ketchup on a bunch of different foods . . . some of which are traditional, and some of which aren’t.  Here’s what they found . . .

  1. Hot dog . . . 85% of people use ketchup.

  1. Fries . . . 83% use ketchup.

  1. Burgers . . . 82% use ketchup.

  1. Chicken nuggets . . . 69% use ketchup.

  1. Eggs . . . 29% use ketchup.

  1. Grilled cheese . . . 21% use ketchup.

  1. Other sandwiches . . . 14% use ketchup.

  1. Pasta . . . 9% use ketchup.

And finally, . . . 14% of people say they would eat ketchup by the spoonful.

The one thing Buzzfeed didn’t find out was if anyone else puts Ketchup on steak?   I do, sometimes.  I know there some who want to take my man card for saying that.  Let me explain.

I don’t do it very often.  I mean the price of steak and all, I am lucky to have steak a few times a year.   If a steak is cooked and seasoned right, I don’t put the red glob of goodness on the meat.  But there are times you need a sauce and steak sauce is out.   I do not like any of them. To me they overpower the taste of steak does not enhance it.  That’s just me.  I have said in the past if any chef was insulted by me using ketchup on steak I would say “I paid for it, if you want to pay for it then I will eat it they way you want even with steak sauce”
