Paul McCartney will appear on NBC's Today on Thursday (July 25th) to promote his upcoming children's book, titled Hey Grandude! The McCartney segment will be featured between the 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. hours. Hey Grandude!, which is due out on September 5th via Random House Books for Young Readers, is illustrated by Kathryn Durst.

Aside from music, McCartney has often ventured into the world of animation. Along with that, the former-Beatle is also an avid painter. We asked McCartney what exactly the allure is for him: "It's slightly different from music -- it's slightly more like a world you go through to. . . it's like a sort of door. The painting kinda creates a door, you can go through it into another world -- which is quite nice, y'know? You can go into a little bit of a trance while you're doing it, y'know, so it's a nice contrast from real life."
