Paul McCartney has announced the first dates of his upcoming “Freshen Up” tour, which opens with four Canadian stops in September. The tour — which coincides with “Macca's” new album, Egypt Station due out on September 7th — will play Quebec City, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton, with further North American shows yet to be announced. McCartney said in the tour announcement: “We’ve always had such a fantastic time playing shows in Canada. We can’t wait to return in September for what should be another special run of shows. We are looking forward to freshening up our show and playing some of our songs from the new album alongside those songs we know you like to hear. Get ready to rock Canada!”

Paul McCartney will headline the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Tickets are now on sale for the Texas festival, which takes place across the weekends of October 5th through 7th and the 12th through the 14th. The actual date of his spot has yet to be announced.

McCartney says that in many ways, the road feels just as much like a racing event as it does a rock show: “It's a big operation these days. Y'know, there's like 140 people put it together. So I think of it, like, Formula One, or something. You've got these amazing technicians who can change a tire in three seconds; can't tune a guitar (laughs) — but. . . No, so you've got these great guys all working, and so, I think that's very exciting. And, like, that's my team, so I love that. And we get on very well, so it's kind of good to go back to that.”
