According to an inside source, Elton John will star in a new commercial for Britain's John Lewis department store, which will run at Christmas. The Daily Mail reported, "Sir Elton embarked on the filming after returning from the South of France, where he and husband David Furnish had been holidaying with David and Victoria Beckham and their family. Viewers will see Sir Elton playing piano at the climax of the advert. In earlier scenes, actors play him as a boy opening presents with family members."

The source went on to say, "It’s a tear-jerker but also very sweet, and follows Elton from a child, through his teenage years, into how he is today. It is all very, very charming and the exciting crescendo at the end will be Elton playing his famous piano."

A rep for John Lewis refused to confirm or deny the "Rocket Man's" participation, stating: "We are lucky enough to enjoy lots of speculation around our TV ads, much of which is wildly inaccurate, and our one rule is to never comment on any aspect simply because we want to keep the magic."

Elton John admits that although he ultimately has no regrets about how he lived his life early on, he's far happier since becoming sober and falling in love 25 years ago: "I'm glad that I lived my rock star years, because it made me appreciate now what I shouldn't be doing. When I was younger I did everything I possibly could and I had a great time. I took it too far and didn't know when to stop. But the good thing is that life since 1990 has been all about trying to grow up, trying to see things from a different perspective -- listening. And I was lucky to find my partner and that's been the saving grace of my life, as well." as part of his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center.
