Green Day is not releasing new music anytime soon, contrary to a report from theU.K.'s Kerrang! Radio program “Breakfast with Sophie K.” Kerrang! had to issue a retraction, saying that new music from the band isn’t planned for the near future. Representatives for the trio stated, “Definitely no Green Day single any time soon.”

Kerrang! Radio reported earlier this week that the new track was coming on Friday, July 19th at around noon ET. The band's last album, Revolution Radio, arrived in 2016.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong did jump into an Instagram livestream last December to tell the fans there that he was “writing new songs for gd now,” although he did not share any more details.

One high profile artist who would love to collaborate with Green Day is Panic! At The Disco singer Brendon Urie, who said on the gaming and video platform Twitch that he “would love to do music with (Green Day),” adding, “They're just so f**king talented, and they had everything to do with me getting into punk rock.”
