The first season of Ron Wood's celebrated British TV interview program, The Ronnie Wood Show, will receive an 11-show airing on AXS TV beginning on July 11th. Vintage Vinyl News reported "The season kicks off with a special hour-long premiere event that finds Wood joined by rock superstar Paul McCartney, who reminisces about his unparalleled legacy before performing an impressive set list of songs that both powered his career and impacted his life. During the insightful interview, Woods and McCartney talked about these early influences in their life like Chuck Berry’s poetic 'Little Queenie,' Marvin Gaye’s 'Hitch Hike,' the Beach Boys' 'God Only Knows,' which is McCartney’s favorite song by the California band."

Other celebrities who appeared on the show's first season in 2012 includes Slash, Wood's Faces bandmate Ian McLagan, Pattie Boyd, Steve Cropper, producer Mark Ronson, Simply Red and modern-day Faces frontman Mick Hucknall, and Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie, among others.

  • Ron Wood told us that whether it's the Faces or the Rolling Stones, British rock owes everything to Black American music: "We got inspired by American music, and we sold it back to them and they took it. You can ask Jeff Beck that and Jimmy Page that and Mick (Jagger) and Keith (Richards) -- we were inspired by the American soul music, especially the blues, from Muddy Waters to Bobby Womack and, y'know, Rod Stewart started with Sam Cooke. He got inspired by him and it just goes down the line. We brought it back over here and it turned into rock n' roll." :
