The many faces of Snoopy.

On this date in 1922 Charles Shultz was born. The man who gave us countless hours of smiles with the creation of the comic strip “PEANUTS”

Charlie Brown, Linus, Sally Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Peppermint Patty…the list could go on and on.  But if asked most people would agree the most popular character is the one born at the Daisy Hill Puppy farm SNOOPY.

Was there anything this beagle couldn’t do? He is a World War One Flying Ace, a world class Athlete and philosopher.

But my favorite one time strip only had one character in it.  That was Sally Brown who was giving her report in front of the class on Dinosaurs.  Like any good public speaker she started with a joke.

My favorite dinosaur is the Bronchitis!  But is now extinct because it coughed a lot.

I never get tired of that joke, I have stolen I mean used it many many many times myself, just ask my wife!

Speaking of my wife, we celebrate a little extra on Thanksgiving night.  It was 25 years ago I asked her to be my wife!

Speaking of my wife, several years ago she and my mother in law tried a new recipe for a pumpkin pecan pie that is now my favorite pie.    Here is that recipe

Pecan-Pumpkin Pie

3 eggs

1 cup dark corn syrup

1/2 cup sugar

4 tablespoons butter, melted

1 cup canned pumpkin

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup pecans, chopped

1 9-inch deep pie shell

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a hand beater, beat eggs well. Beat in corn syrup, sugar, butter, pumpkin and vanilla until well beaten. Arrange pecans in single layer in bottom of pie shell. Slowly pour egg mixture over pecans. Bake 1 hour or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean,
