The Strokes are returning to action in 2019. The long-running New York City garage rock act has announced a headlining appearance at the 2019 Bilbao BBK Live Festival in Bilbao, Spain, alongside the likes of Thom Yorke, Weezer, Vince Staples and other stars.

The Bilbao event will take place on July 11th, 12th and 13th and will be the Strokes' first performance since their 2017 tour. It also marks the beginning of what is being called their “global comeback,” which will include future international dates.

The Strokes have not released a full-length studio album since 2013’s Comedown Machine. Their most recent release, a three-song called Future Present Past, came out in June 2016.

Singer Julian Casablancas has recorded and toured behind two albums with his side act, The Voidz, while guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. put out his fourth solo album, Francis Trouble.
