The surviving members of the Allman Brothers Band (ABB) will reunite on March 10th at New York's Madison Square Garden for a one-off 50th anniversary reunion concert. Jambands.com posted the band, which now consists of sole surviving original member, drummer Jaimoe, along with Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge and Marc Quinones. ABB alumnus, keyboardist Chuck Leavell will sit in for a few songs, with appearances by Duane Trucks of Widespread Panic, and keyboardist Reese Wynans. Co-founding guitarist Dickey Betts will not be performing on the night due to "prior commitments."

Warren Haynes said in a statement, "Hard to believe it's been five years since our final show at the Beacon. We had all talked about doing a final show at Madison Square Garden, which never came to fruition. What a great way to honor 50 years of music and fulfill that wish at the same time."

Warren Haynes recalled to us that his personal and professional relationship with the late-Gregg Allman and the Allman Brothers Band spans nearly 40 years: "Well, we met in 1981, and I was 21-years-old, and he was very encouraging and complimentary toward me. And not too long after that, I started doing some stuff with Dickey Betts, and I was starting to write songs with Dickey, and then Gregg recorded my song, 'Just Before The Bullets Fly,' and so, when they invited me to join the Allman Brothers in '89, I had kind of had a little buffer zone where I wasn't just completely being thrown into the fire -- but I was very intimidated. (Gregg) was very disarming and had a way -- toward me -- of making me feel very comfortable from the beginning. And that really, kind of, helped my situation in that band and made it a lot easier."

One of the highlights of Warren Haynes' tenure in the Allmans was recreating and building upon the dual lead lines originated by co-founders Duane Allman and Dickey Betts with Derek Trucks: "Ah, I love playing with Derek. Derek and I have been close friends for a long time, and I think he's a wonderful musician and it's a pleasure working with him."

Ticket pre-sales begin on January 7th, with a public on sale date set for January 10th via Ticketmaster.
