The Eagles performed their 1976 Hotel California album in it' entirety at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena for the first time on Friday and Saturday night (September 27th and 28th). The 31-song "Welcome To The Hotel California" show kicked off with the Hotel California album, with the band going on to play a further 23 tunes spanning the Eagles' entire career -- with a few dips into both Don Henley and Joe Walsh's solo careers.

In addition to Henley and Walsh, the Eagles also feature 41-year-veteran Timothy B. Schmit -- along with the late-Glenn Frey's 25-year-old son Deacon Frey, as well as country legend Vince Gill.

Hotel California is now the third best-selling album of all time, having been certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA for sales and streams of more than 26 million copies.

Even in death, co-founder Glenn Frey plays a tremendous role in the Eagles' group consciousness. On their official website, his name, year of birth and death, sits above the Eagles masthead. During a recent chat with CBS This Morning, Don Henley spoke about his early years coming up with Frey: "He was the man with the plan. He got to L.A. two or three years before I did and he had sort of mapped out the terrain, he knew what was going on. He knew who all the big players were in terms of management and record companies and things like that. He knew a lot of things I didn't know. I was just a naive kid from Texas. I had done some homework -- but he was the one who had the connections to Jackson Browne and to Linda (Ronstadt) and to David Geffen. And he's really the guy who charted the course to begin with."

Songwriter J.D. Souther recalls co-writing the Hotel California standout "Victim Of Love" with Henley, Frey, and Don Felder: "I came in late on that one. They had the track done. That was Don Felder's track, I think. And that was one of those -- they were in Florida at Criteria (Studios) cutting the album, and it was 'J.D., get down here (laughs), we've got a couple of songs that aren't finished.' That happened a couple of times. That happened on that album and The Long Run album. But I think at that time we finished 'New Kid In Town' and we wrote the lyrics to 'Victim Of Love.'"

The Eagles will next play on October 5th at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.
