HOW DO I SAY GOODBYE?

I have been thinking about this for a few days, what is it?  How to say GOODBYE.   No I am not leaving KOOL.  But I just noticed that a phrase is starting to take the word Goodbye away from our everyday use. For the past few weeks whenever I am in a store it seems...

I NEED TO WAKE UP

As I have told you in the past I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep and last night was one of those nights.  I woke up three times before 2am and only once was for the reason most men of my age wake up in the middle of the night. TODAY I AM...

DEF LEPPARD GUITARIST WASN’T SURE IF JOURNEY TEAMUP WOULD WORK

Although its shaping up to be among the hottest — and biggest earning — tours of the season, Def Leppard‘s Phil Collen wasn’t originally sure that teaming up with Journey was a great idea. 12 years after their first joint tour, Collen, admitted to NorthJersey.com, “(In 2006) We didn’t think it was a good pairing. We’re this hard rock band from England and they’re American and slightly different, a little more melodic. But our then-manager said, ‘It’s going to be great,’ and the first date, in Camden, New Jersey, sold out immediately. We loved that tour. We would’ve toured (again) together earlier but we’ve had conflicting commitments over the years. But now it worked out and we’re thrilled to be doing this.”

Collen was asked if he ever tires of recreating Def Leppard’s greatest hits on stage and explained, “People ask me if it gets old. Are you kidding me? I’m 60 now and the fact that I can perform these songs and the audience is still singing along is the best thing in the world. We’re very humble to be able to still be doing this.”

  • Leppard was one of rock’s longest holdouts in allowing its music to be sold and streamed on line, preferring instead to hold out for the best financial terms for the band: “We didn’t want to get ripped off. We put a value on our music. We weren’t going to give it away and get a small percentage back. When we finally got to an agreement, it was awesome and it’s been nothing but amazing.”
  • Regarding the eagerly awaited followup to the band’s last album, 2015’s self-titled Top 10 album, Collen said, “It will be done when it’s ready. You see what works and does not work and what clicks. The great thing is we continue to get better as songwriters.”
  • Although Leppard is no doubt proud of their new material, frontman Joe Elliott told us to never expect the band to try out unreleased material during a concert anytime soon: “Nowadays we play one song, it’s gonna be on YouTube two minutes later. And it’s gonna be. . . Everyone is gonna know it that cares about it, six months before the thing comes out.” at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.
