Lynyrd Skynyrd remains amazed that the group's final trek, dubbed “The Last Of The Street Survivors Farewell Tour,” is just eight weeks away from wrapping. Leading the band is sole surviving original member Gary Rossington on guitar, early member Rickey Medlocke — also on guitar, and frontman Johnny Van Zant.

Recently released is Skynyrd's Live In Atlantic City collection — which has been issued as a CD / Blu-ray digipak with a limited first print run in fake leather. The set, which will also be available on vinyl and as a digital download, was captured live on June 23rd, 2006, at the Decades Rock Arena inside the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, and later broadcast as part of VH1 Classic's Decades Rock Live!

Special guests appearing on the set are American Idol star Bo Bice, 3 Doors Down, and Hank Williams, Jr. Highlights feature such Skynyrd standards as “Workin' For MCA,” “Gimme Three Steps,” “That Smell,” “Saturday Night Special,” “Call Me The Breeze,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “Free Bird.”

During the band's chat on AXS TV's The Big Interview With Dan Rather Gary Rossington and Johnny Van Zant were ruminating on what it takes to wind down a performing career: (Gary Rossington): It takes a long time to finish a farewell tour when you're like us, 'cause we've played everywhere and there's thousands of venues. So, I keep joking it'd take 10 years to do (laughter) the farewell tour. . . (Johnny Van Zant): Gary's going, 'It's gonna be a long farewell tour!' (laughter)”
