DAVID CROSBY EXPLAINS PRECEIVED EDDIE VAN HALEN DISS

It seems as if David Crosby is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. The legendary singer-songwriter, who is often praised for his honesty to the extent that Rolling Stone has given him his own advise column, got on the wrong side of a bunch of Eddie Van Halen fans.

“Croz” — who as anyone who follows his Twitter feed knows — answers questions personally, without preaching or trying to convince his followers of any specific way to think. He simply answers according to how he feels. NME.com reported when pressed about his opinion of the recently-deceased Van Halen's guitar playing, David Crosby simply tweeted, “Meh. . . “

In addition to fans, noted rockers Traci Guns and Dee Snider took umbrage at what they deemed an unforgivable diss to the guitar great, with Guns posting, “Wrong answer as f*** and rude as f***!!! There are better ways to say you don’t care for someone’s music. That was very disrespectful. And yes straight out f*** you and your smug answer.”

Dee Snyder added in his own post: “Always hated @thedavidcrosby AND his mustache.”

Over the course of two days, Crosby explained why he answered the way he did: “Sorry. . . just meant he does not move me much.” Crosby later added: “(Jimi) Hendrix changed the world of guitar. Nobody else really. . . look I get it. . . many of you loved Van Halen. . . and the one time I met (him) he was nice. . . and he was talented. . . meh to me means I don’t care that much. . . and I don’t. . . doesn’t mean he wasn’t good, he was but not for me.”
