Page Six reports that Dolly Parton has inked a new book deal. Although larger publishing houses were interested in the legendary entertainer, she opted to sign with small indie publishers Chronicle Books and Recorded Books in a joint pact. Dolly reportedly wanted the audio rights in the end, which Chronicle and Recorded were willing to give back to her after a period of 10 years. There is no word yet on if the new book is a memoir.

Dolly's previous writings include the children's books I Am a Rainbow and Coat of Many Colors, a self-help book called Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You, and a 1995 autobiography, Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business.
