Squeeze has announced a 14-date summer run, dubbed "The Difford And Tilbrook Songbook 2019." According to the band's official website (Squeezeofficial.com), the trek "will see the South-London legends play their extensive list of hits as well as some rare, lesser known gems from their back catalogue and solo careers of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook." Squeeze kicks things off on August 14th in Pawling, New York at Daryl's House Club and winds things down on September 22nd in Atlanta, Georgia at the Tabernacle Atlanta.

All shows will go on sale on Friday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. local time -- for the except for the Asbury Park, New Jersey; New York City; and Lenox, Massachusetts dates, which are already on sale.

In addition to co-founders Difford & Tilbrook, the band's current lineup is rounded out by Simon Hanson on drums, Stephen Large on keyboards, Yolanda Charles on bass, and Steve Smith on percussion. Back in October 2017, Squeeze released its 15th studio set, titled The Knowledge.

Although Difford & Tilbrook had been hesitant in the past over using the Squeeze moniker without a majority of its classic members, Glenn Tilbrook told us that, basically anything the he and Chris Difford write and record together can only be labeled "Squeeze": "Rather foolishly, from my point of view, anyway, I was very into the idea that a band is a certain set of people, and then if that set would be blown around, it's not that band anymore. Now, I see it differently, although there are similarities, because, I think this version of Squeeze that we have now is a proper band. It's not me and Chris and anonymous people; it's people who have character and personality, and play, brilliantly -- very differently to the old Squeeze. But, I think that's. . . that's a blessing. You don't wanna go on doing what you've already done. You wanna break out somewhere else and do something that's interesting to everyone."
