Stevie Nicks and Joe Walsh are both featured on Sheryl Crow's new track “Prove You Wrong.” Ultimate Classic Rock reported the track, which also features country star Maren Morris, is the lead single from Crow's upcoming set, titled Threads, which will be released on August 30th.
Other guests said to have contributed to the album are Keith Richards, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Willie Nelson, and Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples, with the album featuring a posthumous duet with Johnny Cash. Crow has said that Threads will be her final full-length album, preferring to focus on single-only releases in the future.
Sheryl Crow told us became a die-hard Stevie Nicks fan upon the release of Fleetwood Mac's 1977 masterpiece, Rumours: “When I was in high school, what was on the radio was Foreigner and Boston and kind of corporate rock bands, and then you had the Rumours album, which was so huge. It was the one thing on the radio that I could completely relate to.”
Sheryl Crow told us that it's her ambition every time she starts a new tune to write a song for the ages: “You're always trying to write that great song. Y'know, I still hear 'Yesterday' or 'Girl From North Country' and those songs still really move me and there's a real timelessness about them. I think that's what really propels me, is to write that song that's just so deep in the soul that you want to hear it over and over. And when you hear it again and you haven't heard it for a while it still makes you feel something.”
Sheryl Crow will perform on Sunday night (June 9th) in Novelty, Ohio at the LaureLive Music Festival.
