ELTON JOHN RESCHEDULES NORTH AMERICAN DATES FOR 2022

ELTON JOHN RESCHEDULES NORTH AMERICAN DATES FOR 2022

Elton John has rolled out the rescheduled North American leg of his ongoing “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.” As it stands now, Elton's dates have been pushed to the beginning of 2022, with the run starting on January 19th at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center and playing through April 28th, when the tour hits Miami's American Airlines Arena. Along the way there will be multi-night stops in Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, New York City, and St. Paul.

Ticketholders for all postponed performances will receive new event information shortly and all original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled performances.

Elton John posted a statement announcing the rescheduled dates:

I’ve been enjoying my time at home with the family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic. But, I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans in my “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.” While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone.

I will be starting my tour again in Europe and the UK in the Fall of 2021. And I will be back in North America starting in January 2022. This means my New Zealand dates will be postponed until 2023. Don’t worry about me. I’m using my downtime to keep myself fighting fit and healthier than ever. I’m raring to go! As always, thank you so much for your loyal support. I look forward to seeing all you wonderful Elton John fans soon. In the meantime, please stay safe and be well. Thank you!

Just prior to launching the farewell jaunt, Elton John explained why it was so important for him to finally quit the road: “And, y'know, I always thought I was going to be like Ray Charles, B.B. King — on the road forever. But once your life changes and you have the children; it has changed our life so much, and I love them so much — and they'll be coming on part of this tour with us. We're going to take them out of school for nine months, with a tutor. I just wanna be there. When I stop, they're going to be 10 and eight and that's a very important time in their lives. I love them so much, I don't want to miss them and I don't want them to miss me.”
