ELVIS PRESLEY’S ONLY GRANDSON DEAD OF AN APPARENT SUICIDE

Elvis Presley's only grandson, 27-year-old Benjamin Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and first husband Danny Keough, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday (July 13th) in Calabasas, California.

Lisa Marie's spokesperson, Roger Widynowski, told People, “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.” According to the report, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department did not immediately respond to press inquiries regarding Keough's death.

Benjamin Keough was Lisa Marie's second child, after his big sister, actress daughter Riley Keough who's now 31. Lisa Marie also has 11-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, from her marriage to Michael Lockwood.

For the greater Elvis community, Benjamin Keough struck a particular nerve with fans, due to his at times shocking resemblance to his late-grandfather, the “King of Rock and Roll.” Back in 2012, Benjamin and his siblings were featured in Lisa Marie's remake of Elvis' Sun Records favorite “I Love You Because.” She admitted at the time that he had “a little bit” of her father in him, adding to CMT, “He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage! Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny. Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him.”

Lisa Marie and Benjamin got matching tattoos for Mother’s Day in 2009. She later revealed on Twitter that the symbol was a “Celtic eternity knot” representing “eternal love and connection.”
