JAMES TAYLOR AND BONNIE RAITT PUSH CANDAIAN RUN TO FALL 2021

James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt have rescheduled their 2020 Canadian tour dates for next year. The pair's 2021 12-date arena run is now scheduled to kick off on September 12th in St. John’s, NL at Mile One Centre and wrap on October 2nd at Vancouver's Rogers Arena.

Back in May, James Taylor and Jackson Browne rescheduled their postponed 2020 joint sates, pushing the arena trek to the spring of 2021. As it stands now, the 27-city run will now kick off on May 14th, 2021 in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center and wrap on July 10th, 2021 at Wantagh, New York's Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater.

Although James Taylor is rated among the top composers of the singer-songwriter era, he credits his vocal and guitar styles for much of his success: “If you listen to the original of 'Handy Man,' or 'Up On The Roof,' or 'Everyday,' and then listen to my version of it, the arrangement gets redone. I have a vocal style that tends to lay the thing back a little bit in many cases. The other thing is that I have this sort of vocabulary on guitar — kind of preferred chord changes, and I'll play these songs over years going back to when I was a teenager.”

Bonnie Raitt told us that all of the musicians she likes tend to share something in common: “For me, the artists that appeal to me the most have that kind of nexus of soul music, and country, and roots, and, y'know, you can't really categorize the Band or Little Feat. Y'know, there's certain kinds of Americana music, I suppose, that I really am knocked out by. And people say 'What are you looking for?' I don't really know — but when I hear it, I recognize it.”
