PAUL McCARTNEY POSTS ‘RELAXATION’-BASED SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

Paul McCartney has just posted a new 12-song Spotify playlist on his official PaulMcCartney.com site. Every month McCartney posts a new tracklisting with a specific theme — with August spotlighting some of his more relaxing songs from across his solo catalogue.

The announcement reads: “Long summer days are truly here. Time to relax, don’t you think? Some of the best songs are the ones you can stick in your headphones and settle down with, as soft and comforting as a worn-out blanket. With this in mind, we’ve delved into Paul’s catalogue and hand-selected songs with a more chilled-out vibe for August’s “Sticking Out Of My Back Pocket” playlist. From old classics like ‘The Back Seat Of My Car’ to new favorites such as ‘Dominoes’, this is your time to switch off from the stress of everyday life and let the music take over. Listen to the playlist here!”

One of the highlights on the new set is “Bip Bop” — a tune that would actually fit in quite nicely with the lo-fi alternative music scene these days. A while back, McCartney admitted that although he signed off on everything he's ever released, there are still a few tracks that never fail to get under his skin: “Yeah, there’s one or two tracks I’m not very keen on. I was talking to a producer called Trevor Horn, and I was talking to him, I was saying ‘I hate the track called, ‘Bip Bop’' — it’s on Wild Life. It’s like, that’s basically the entire lyrics. And he said, ‘Oh, I love it. It’s my favorite track.’ So, what can you do? I’m not keen on that one.”
