PETE TOWNSHEND FEATURED ON NEW JUDE LAW MOVIE SOUNDTRACK

Pete Townshend has contributed steel guitar and violin to the soundtrack for the new Jude Law movie, titled The Hat. Townshend's wife Rachel Fuller composed the score with Martin Batchelar to the film — which also stars Jude's 23-year-old son, Raff Law, who served as the film's executive producer. The movie, which was shot entirety during the pandemic, was directed by Teen Cancer America board member and supporter Darren Strowger.

According to TheWho.com: “What makes this film unique is that it was shot in lock-down during Covid-19 and is a new financial model of filmmaking where all proceeds go to charity — Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America.”

The Hat has been nominated for Best UK Short at the prestigious London Raindance Film Festival 2020.

With both Pete Townshend and Rachel Fuller workaholic composers, we asked Fuller, why the two don't simply pair up for an album together: “I don't know. I mean, apart from the fact that he and I would probably have fun doing it — we do love working together — I just think it's a bit too cheesy. I just think people would be like: 'blehhhh.' It's great when we work together, and I think doing those shows that we did was an appropriate place for him and I to actually do a couple of things together, but mainstream? No, I just don't think that would work.”
